About

Jeff Pearson, a retired lawyer, is one of the founding directors of the Center. While for many years running his own commercial law practice, he also regularly represented consumer groups and non-profits at reduced rates. One of his nonprofit clients for years in addition to the Center was Energy Outreach Colorado. Since retiring, on a pro bono basis he has represented asylum seekers detained at the ICE contract detention facility in Aurora, Colorado. He recently completed 20 years as a volunteer coach of East High School “Constitutional Scholars” teams competing in the national We the People program; and as a volunteer recently designed and taught a class on immigration reform for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Denver. He and his wife Jessica have eight grandchildren and enjoy hiking, llama wrangling and trekking, showshoeing and cross-country skiing.
