CPR is pleased to announce that the final formative evaluation report for the Colorado Pathways to Success Program is published! This report outlines Colorado’s model intervention for preventing youth homelessness among current and former foster care youth aged 14-21 and reviews the evaluation, lessons learned, and preliminary outcomes from the intervention. Some key findings from the evaluation include:
- Pathways successfully identifies at-risk youth
- Youth report feeling more empowered and resilient following program participation and show outcomes in each of the program’s impact areas: housing, education, employment, health and well-being, and supportive adult connections:
- increases in safe, stable housing, reduction of homeless episodes
- increased graduation rates for younger youth and higher rates of re-enrollment for older youth
- decreased unemployment, increased earnings, and greater access to banking services
- feeling prepared to manage their health, reduction in mental health episodes
