CPR is proud to announce that Jessica Pearson, Ph.D., (CPR’s director and co-director of the Fatherhood Research and Practice Network) will be speaking at the NCSEA Policy Forum Update on February 24th:
- Session Title: The Essential Role of Fathers. Recasting the Institutional Culture and Viewpoint of Fathers in the Child Support Program
- Session Description: What is the current relationship between the goals of the child support program and the goals of the fatherhood programs and the goals of a father? Are these goals even compatible? What can the child support program do to recognize, encourage, and
improve the roles of fathers in their children’s lives, especially for those who do not reflect cultural stereotypes? What does the research show and how does that compare to at least one individual’s experience? Our experts will discuss, and maybe even debate these and other aspects of paternal perceptions of the program, and vice versa in an attempt to start a new conversation on how we can make sure children have two parents who are engaged in all aspects of their lives, including the engagements which are not measured in dollars and cents. - Session Schedule: February 24, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM (EST)
